Hey folks! While searching for cycling events recently, I ran across the charity SHIP (the Student’s Homeless Initiative Partnership of Frederick County). I'm participating in the Maryland Endurance Challenge in May and the event benefits SHIP which provides relief and support to the hundreds of Frederick County Public School (FCPS) students who are encountering homelessness. Find out more about SHIP here > http://www.mdendurancechallenge.com/home/about-ship/ SHIP works in tandem with FCPS and a number of Frederick County human service agencies and they are strictly focused on providing for these children in need. I've always gravitated towards the idea of communities helping those in need and relying less on outside (government) assistance. Normally I shy away from soliciting donations but this is a good cause for kids in our local community in need so I would appreciate any support. If you want to join in on the fun and particiapte in the event, here's the info on Maryland Endurance Challenge > http://www.mdendurancechallenge.com/ There are 3 events - a 3 hour challenge, a 6 hour challenge and a big ole 12 hour challenge. Basically see how far you can ride starting from the beautiful Mt. Saint Mary's campus. Hope you consider donating or better yet, join the fun and ride with us!!
